Please help me,moving and no idea what to buy?Easy question?

Ok people.I need serious help here.I am looking online at some bed blankets.I need someone to explain the difference between a comforter,bedspread,down,down alternative,quilts,and coverlets.Advanced thanks to all.And anyone who would like to post images of bed blankets that you like would be great.My furniture is a dark wood and I have not painted yet.I am looking at white and maybe ivory violet colors all the way to deep reds and purples,so I really have no idea what so ever about what I want.PICTURE EXAMPLES OF EACH DIFFERENT TYPE OF BED BLANKET WOULD BE NICE,
