When can I consider myself a buddhist?

I am a fourteen year old boy that desperately wants to become a Tibetan Mahayana Buddhist. I've done hours of research into the subject but I can't find any straightforward answers! So someone please tell me some STRAIGHTFORWARD answers!:) I live in Kelowna B.C. Who should I go to, where should I go, what should I do, are there any rites, do I need to take vows, If so, do they need to be in a temple. When can I consider myself a Buddhist!
