Can PDA in premature babies effect them in adult hood, even though it was corrected then ?

i had pda ( heart defect) when i was born 3 months early only weighing 1 lb 6oz , it was corrected with meds while i was in the hostp for 3 months , but towards the end of those 3month stay they heard a heart murmur and diag. it as the pda , i was wondering even though it was corrected as a newborn are there any chances that a heart defect could appear in adult hood ? my mother never took me to a heart specilist or anything as a child to make sure everything was ok , as a matter of fact i dont think she even knew i had it as a newborn because she left me there w/o vististing until it was time for me to come home . i was on respatory vent. on and off , and in and out of the incubator. with lung problems , and the pda , im just a lil concerned, should i talk with my doctors about this because i just found out a few days ago about it all !!! my own mother never told , probley caus she never knew cause she never visited me then to find out what was going on with me . anyways if someone can pls give me some advise as to what i should do or am i just worrying for nothing ?
